At this forum, PIS joins 800 leading companies in the energy sector and prominent shipping firms worldwide, including Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, HD Hyundai Oilbank, Aramco, and others.
With 15,000 delegates from 125 countries in attendance, Gastech serves as a platform for energy industry leaders to discuss developments and challenges, focusing primarily on natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) development. In line with industry trends, Gastech also covers new technologies such as hydrogen and low-carbon renewable energy solutions, as well as artificial intelligence (AI).
This year's GASTECH 2024 forum focuses on the changing landscape of the energy industry due to shifting consumer trends, climate change impacts, and geopolitical conditions. During the forum, DMG Events Energy President Christopher Hudson, the organizer, opened the session by emphasizing the importance of industry stakeholders coming together to seek solutions to the challenges faced by the energy sector.

It symbolizes international collaboration in the energy industry. In the forum, PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi highlighted PIS’s expansion and innovation efforts to fulfill the company's vision of becoming a global leader in marine logistics by 2034. "As the largest integrated maritime logistics company in Indonesia, PIS continues to innovate to meet the increasing domestic energy demand," Yoki remarked during the CEO panel session at Gastech 2024 held at the PIS booth on Thursday (9/19).
This is PIS' first participation in the Gastech forum. In this inaugural appearance, PIS set up a 150-square-meter booth showcasing miniatures of PIS vessels alongside interactive screens containing information about PIS' business.
To further introduce PIS as a leading Indonesian company on the global stage, PIS also held a discussion panel featuring executives and energy, shipping, and sustainability practitioners.
The first panel session included PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi and NYK Group Europe Norway Managing Director Anders Lepsøe, discussing maritime logistics in the context of energy transition and the evolving global market.
PIS’s Business Planning Director Eka Suhendra spoke about PIS’s commitment to enhancing its contribution to green business overall and the company's role in supporting net-zero emission targets, along with an analysis of future clean energy markets by Global Head of LNG Fearnleys, Per Christian Fett.
Also present was PIS Director of Crude Oil and Petroleum Tankers Brilian Perdana, who discussed corporate plans to capitalize on the significant potential of the global LNG market, particularly in Southeast Asia. In this discussion, Brilian was joined by Director Deputy Head of Drewry Maritime Services (Asia) Pte Ltd Jayendu Khrisna.
PIS Fleet Director M. Irfan Zainul Fikri detailed the company's fleet advantages, prioritizing safety standards and international capability to meet global maritime market demands. The discussion also featured Director of Global Gas Development of ABS Qatar Ltd Rostom Merzouki and Senior Director of MOL Encean Pte Ltd Taichi Sugiyama.
