"I hope that all participants can be active and think creatively so that they can provide reflective ideas about the current condition," Acting Governor of Lemhannas, Lieutenant General Eko Margiyono, stated here on Wednesday.
While speaking at the event, Margiyono remarked that the seminar would produce a manuscript that would be handed to policymakers.
The manuscript, as the seminar result, would become a model of a public policy recommendation product that has gone through a public consultation process.
By inviting the public to be active and critical in the activity, he believes that people in Indonesia can have a high level of political awareness.
He explained that in a society with high awareness of politics, people are not only cognizant of their political rights and obligations but are also actively involved in the political process.

Margiyono also regretted dynamics that always occur during the election period in Indonesia, such as money politics, the issue of political dynasty, and rampant cases of disinformation.
"This shows that the public support for improving political culture and democracy is still low," he pointed out.
The acting governor underscored the need for Indonesia to improve its political culture though it still faces behavior-related challenges, such as people being too pragmatic and always seeking to achieve things instantly.
Margiyono assessed that such conduct would affect political behavior, both at the elite and community levels.
"If political pragmatism continues, the birth of leaders with integrity is difficult," he cautioned.
