Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto expressed his gratitude to all Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers for their dedication and devotion to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Tjahjanto made the statement during the summit of the TNI's 79th anniversary commemoration held at the National Monument (Monas) here on Saturday.

"To all soldiers and extended families of the TNI, wherever they are and where they serve, I, on behalf of the ministry, congratulate the 79th anniversary of the TNI," Tjahjanto, who served as the TNI commander from 2017–2021, said in a public relations statement issued by the TNI.

On the same occasion, he urged the soldiers to realize the vision of the current TNI Commander, General Agus Subiyanto, to make the force professional, responsive, integrated, modern, and adaptive. The vision is known as the TNI Prima.

"Thank you to all TNI personnel for your dedication and devotion. Continue to uphold the Sapta Marga (military ethic code) to realize TNI Prima," he added.

On Saturday, Minister Tjahjanto, along with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and other ministers of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet, attended the summit of TNI's 79th anniversary commemoration.

President Widodo presided over the ceremony.

At the honorable tribune area, the president was accompanied by First Lady Iriana and their grandson Jan Ethes.

President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka also attended the event, which featured demonstrations by soldiers, including parachuting, battle simulation using drones and anti-drone devices, and maneuvers by the Air Force and the Navy aviators.

There was also a defile of troops, a parade showcasing the TNI defense system, and a music performance.
