The head of the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health Sumarjaya in the ministry's statement received here on Saturday stated the step was taken so that the community can access the emergency telephone number and other health services from one application.
He expressed optimism that the integration of the medical emergency telephone number into the SATUSEHAT Mobile application will generate positive results in the future.
"With the integration in SATUSEHAT Mobile, it is hoped that information related to medical records of patients can be integrated (with several services), such as ambulance services, services in the hospital, and between hospitals," he remarked.
Sumarjaya also noted that the integration is expected to make medical emergency responses quicker.
He further said that the 119 is available for all communities in all districts and cities in the country.
For regions that do not yet have a Public Safety Center (PSC), he said, the emergency calls are forwarded to the nearest hospital.
He explained that the mechanism for the 119 medical emergency telephone number is regulated in the Health Minister's Regulation Number 19 of 2016 on Integrated Emergency Handling Systems.
He expounded that the services provided through the 119 emergency telephone number are, among other things, initial action guidelines through emergency algorithms, sending medical personnel and ambulances, and taking patients to the nearest health facility.
Sumarjaya further said that the PSC services that can be accessed include the handling of emergencies with the right protocol, information on the availability of hospital rooms, information on the nearest health facility, as well as information on ambulances.
