Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has highlighted the need to ensure that the Grand Design of National Bureaucratic Reform (GDRBN) for 2025–2045 helps build the world-class bureaucracy Indonesia needs to stand out at the global level.

To that end, Amin, as chair of the National Bureaucratic Reform Steering Committee (KPRBN), gave several strategic directives to ministers during a committee meeting in Jakarta on Monday.

First, he emphasized the importance of coordination and collaboration in bureaucratic activities to make all policies effective and relevant to national development priority issues.

In this regard, he pushed for paying special attention to derivative regulations of the Civil Servants Law.

Outlining the second directive, Amin stressed that long-term mapping and planning are essential to achieve the targets of bureaucratic reform optimally.

Therefore, he said, the 2025–2045 GDRBN and its first road map should align with the vision of the incoming administration.

Speaking about the next directive, he underlined the need to evaluate the effectiveness of thematic bureaucratic reform initiatives, especially those related to poverty alleviation and bureaucratic simplification.

Such evaluations can be used for formulating and revising policies, he explained.

While touching upon the final directive, the vice president pointed to the importance of speeding up digital integration and public service transformation.

He noted that the government has inaugurated public service malls in several regions to enhance the accessibility of public services and create a more responsive and efficient bureaucracy.

Speaking of digitization, he called for strengthening the implementation of electronic-based government systems to improve governance and build people's trust in the government.

"It is also important to optimize the digital ID management to support the transformation of public services," he said.
