Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) recorded significant achievements in the decade of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) administration.

"Economic growth is estimated to reach 5.2 percent with added value in the creative economy sector of Rp1,367 trillion and a trade balance surplus of US$11.5 billion," Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa noted in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

In regional development, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased in Java and Sulawesi followed by a decline in social inequality. It is indicated by the Gini ratio, which decreased to 0.375.

The Human Development Index (HDI) reached 75.59, with an average length of schooling of 9.03 years, while the unemployment rate fell to 5.11 percent.

Infrastructure has also developed with the addition of 6,665 Broadcast Traffic Systems (BTS) in the frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) regions, as well as 2,882 kilometers of new toll roads.

In the social sector, the Cultural Development Index also increased to 74.29, the quality of public services reached 82.68, and the Democracy Index rose to 75.51.

In the environmental sector, the government is said to have successfully reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 637 million tons, accompanied by an increase in environmental quality, which has now reached 68.73.

Bappenas also ensures that the development of the new capital Nusantara is based on the principles of sustainability and innovation, in line with the policy direction in the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the Government Work Plan.

"The 2025-2045 RPJPN is the rudder for navigating the direction of Indonesia's development, ensuring that all development actors move in harmony and in an integrated manner for the sake of the nation's ideals," Suharso noted.

The 20-year planning document ratified as a law is considered to play a crucial role in realizing the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.

“RPJPN 2025-2045 plays an important role in forming a solid foundation for Indonesia's national development for the next 20 years," he stated.

"We have ensured that the development plans in the RPJPN and RKP in the coming year are in line with the policy direction of the elected president in order to ensure the continuity of Indonesia's development towards Indonesia Emas 2045,” Suharso affirmed.
