Karnavian and several ministers in President Joko Widodo's administration, such as Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan, and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, were summoned to Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara IV in Jakarta on Monday for a closed-door meeting.
"He asked that the inflation that has been well-maintained so far to be continued (to be checked) during his term," Karnavian informed.
"Then I said that I will continue to carry out (the task) every week until there is an order to stop," he said.
During the meeting, Prabowo said that he considers Karnavian "worthy" to help him in the next Cabinet.
"He said that 'I already know exactly what Mr. Tito (Karnavian) is doing, especially since we often have meetings together. Hearing Mr. Tito's opinions, I consider Mr. Tito worthy and suitable to help me in the next Cabinet for the sake of the nation, the Indonesian people, and to execute my programs,'" Karnavian said, quoting Prabowo.
Meanwhile, Hasan said he got a task related to food self-sufficiency from Prabowo.
However, when asked about the possibility of him serving as coordinating minister for food, he said that it was Prabowo's prerogative to announce the details of his Cabinet ministers later.
Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Raja Juli Antoni, and State Secretary Pratikno were also seen visiting Prabowo's residence.
Several other politicians and professionals also met with Prabowo, including Prasetyo Hadi, Sugiono, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Natalius Pigai, Yandri Susanto, Fadli Zon, Nusron Wahid, Saefullah Yusuf, Maruarar Sirait, Abdul Kadir Karding, Wihaji, and Teuku Riefky Harsya.
They further included Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Yassierli, Satryo Soemantri, Abdul Mu'ti, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, Maman Abdurrahman, and Police Commissioner General Agus Andrianto.
