This will be necessary to ensure that the Cabinet, which includes many ministries, does not become a hotbed for officials to indulge in corruption, he explained.
"Corruption eradication must be a point of emphasis in order to prove to the public that his (Prabowo's) government is better in corruption eradication," Dirgantara said when contacted here on Thursday.
President-elect Prabowo and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on October 20, 2024.
According to Dirgantara, the addition of ministries in Prabowo's upcoming Cabinet will lead to greater state budget spending.
Therefore, he said, the ministers must be accountable in using the budget allocated to ministries by working toward achieving impactful results for the community.
He underlined that the public would be angered in case ministers are found to be involved in graft.
Dirgantara further said that Prabowo, as chairperson of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, must also strengthen the commitment to eradicate corruption among his coalition parties.
As President, he will need to demonstrate his strictness by using legal institutions, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the police, the Attorney General's Office, and the courts, to crack down on corruption, he expounded.
"The legal process must run without intervention," Dirgantara stressed.
By demonstrating their independence and devotion to corruption eradication, Prabowo and his ministers can build a strong and transparent government, he said.
Earlier on October 16–17, ministerial, deputy ministerial, and government agency head candidates for the incoming Cabinet were invited for a two-day briefing at the President-elect's residence in Bogor, West Java.
