Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno personally welcomed the Vanuatu head of government. Meanwhile, the sovereign of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
A guard of honor was performed to welcome the two state guests and other state dignitaries who had arrived earlier.
Earlier this morning, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov arrived at the airport and was welcomed by Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga.
Minister Uno thereafter welcomed the arrivals of Vice President of Laos Pany Yathotou and Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah was greeted by Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta.
Meanwhile, former German president Christian Wulff was the first state guest to arrive in Indonesia for the inauguration. Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono welcomed him at the air base on Friday (October 18).
More leaders of friendly countries are expected to arrive in Indonesia by Saturday night to witness President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka taking their oath of office at the Parliamentary Complex, Central Jakarta, tomorrow.
According to Presidential Secretariat Chief Heru Budi Hartono on Friday, Prabowo-Gibran's inauguration is expected to draw participation from 20 state guests, an envoy for the United Nations, and 13 special envoys representing heads of state.
President Joko Widodo is also scheduled to join the event alongside approximately 1,100 guests.
