Jakarta (ANTARA) - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian highlighted that in the first 100 working days since taking office, he would channel attention to the regional elections and digitalization based on President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita program.

"The most important thing is the regional elections because the lead from the government is the Ministry of Home Affairs. We are fully concentrating on the regional elections," Karnavian remarked after welcoming two new deputy ministers at the ministry's office here on Tuesday.

The Home Ministry would also continue the weekly coordination meeting on controlling regional inflation held since September 2022.

According to Karnavian, the program would continue unless President Prabowo decides otherwise.

The ministry would always conduct routine on-field price checks, as Karnavian currently has two deputy ministers who can share his duties.

Furthermore, the Home Ministry would support the downstream, industrialization, and food security programs.

"This work will be parallel with the technical ministry, the ministry of food, and so on, to take care of food issues," Karnavian explained.

President Prabowo inaugurated Karnavian as home affairs minister at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (Oct 21).

The inauguration of the state ministers is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 133/P of 2024 concerning the Establishment of State Ministries and the Appointment of State Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period.
