Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli has said that improving the people's welfare will be a priority of the government led by President Prabowo Subianto for the next five years.

He underlined that the dimension of welfare is very broad. One of the factors to support it is provincial minimum wage determination, which is under the authority of the Ministry of Manpower.

"Just like the hope of the President, welfare is number one (priority)," he said at the office of the Ministry of Manpower here on Tuesday.

To improve people's welfare, cross-ministerial involvement is needed, he added. For example, to improve the quality of human resources through vocational education, cooperation will need to be forged with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

To support the reskilling and upskilling of the workforce, collaboration will need to be established with the Ministry of Industry, the manufacturing industry, and other parties.

"Regarding how we prepare human resources to work abroad, we also need to work together with the relevant ministry," he added.

He highlighted that challenges in the field of employment are not easy to overcome. Therefore, the ministry is seeking the best solutions so that President Prabowo's vision and missions, including the Golden Indonesia 2045 goal, can be achieved.

On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer, said that unemployment is one of the issues that President Prabowo will pay attention to.

The Ministry of Manpower will focus on resolving the problem so that Indonesia's 2045 goals can be achieved.

"Our focus going forward will be on unemployment because this will be our big narrative going forward to safeguard welfare," he added.
