Prabowo conveyed this in his speech at the first Plenary Cabinet Session of the Red and White Cabinet, at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
"I give you the authority to cut disobedient and underperforming officials, rather than making things difficult for us," he emphasized.
While maintaining he would not interfere with individual ministry operations, Prabowo emphasized that it is his responsibility as head of state to address governmental inefficiencies.
"For any bottlenecks and difficulties, we will overcome them immediately. Our bureaucracy is famous for being too complicated and slow. The public says our bureaucracy often complicates, not making things easier," he pointed out.
Furthermore, Prabowo called on his ministries to adopt a bolder approach to improve public service.
"Do not hesitate. If you are not satisfied with the work of your officials, replace them immediately. Many people are willing to serve. No one here is immune," he stated.
On that occasion, he also requested the cabinet members to prepare their work programs without further ado.
Later, Prabowo said he would continue to summon ministries for coordination at any time.
"This morning, before the cabinet meeting, I coordinated with several ministers, with the Attorney General and Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and tomorrow, we will continue it," he remarked.
The Red and White Cabinet inaugurated by Prabowo on October 21, 2024, at the State Palace, Jakarta, comprises 48 ministries and 55 deputy ministries.
On October 24-27, the cabinet is scheduled to participate in a ministerial briefing at the Military Academy, Magelang, Central Java.
Prabowo chose this historic location for the activity, noting its significance as a center of resistance during the colonial era, to inspire courage and heroism among cabinet members.
