Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto will officially inaugurate the Garuda Palace in the new capital Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

“It will be inaugurated by the president,” Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti noted in a statement on Thursday (Oct 24).

While refraining from announcing the specific date, Kusumastuti indicated that the inauguration falls within the ministry’s initial 100-day work plan.

The inauguration plans extend beyond the Garuda Palace to include other infrastructure projects in Nusantara, such as dams, markets, and a stadium.

Earlier, former head of state Joko Widodo inaugurated the State Palace in Indonesia’s capital of Nusantara on Oct 11 as the president's official residence.

Meanwhile, the Garuda Palace will serve as the president’s office.

Situated atop a hill behind the State Palace, the Garuda Palace overlooks both the Plaza Ceremony Park and Nusantara Flag Hill.

Both the State Palace and Garuda Palace are constructed entirely by local workers, with building materials sourced from various regions in Indonesia.

Both presidential complexes signify major milestones in the new capital's development and the country's urban design evolution.
