Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated when met after attending the Red and White Cabinet retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday, that the milk component was being evaluated by the president.
"Milk is one of the most expensive components in the nutritious meal program. Hence, we need to think of other alternatives besides packaged milk, maybe fluid milk," Hadi remarked.
He ensured that all aspects related to the meal menu would be carefully evaluated before the program's full implementation in January 2025.
Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto reviewed the nutritious meal program trial conducted by the Magelang City Nutritious Meal Service Unit (SPMB).
President Prabowo visited the SPMB in Magelang City to observe the facilities, business model, and work system. During his visit, 200 trial menus, one of which comprised white rice, carrots, tomatoes, chickpeas, chicken meat, and milk boxes, were prepared for his inspection.
Hadi remarked that the nutritious meal program is ready to be implemented starting January next year. However, he admitted that the program's execution in the first year may not be perfect.
"Some other countries have been doing this for decades. Hence, we seek prayers and support. Please understand that this may not be perfect in the first year," he stated.
He remarked that the healthy meal program can cover three to four thousand students in every city.
