Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar visited the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta on Tuesday to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in student exchange and employment.

After meeting the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN, and the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, Faisal Abdullah H. Amodi, Iskandar said that his visit was aimed at building close relations, both personally and between the two countries.

He informed that he discussed stepping up cooperation in various fields, including student exchange and employment, with Amodi.

"And the most obvious (cooperation) we (are) facing is labor cooperation. Some ministries are very important to establish productive cooperation relations with the Saudi Arabia government," he added.

The minister said that there is a need to increase employment cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Amodi welcomed the visit of the coordinating minister to the Saudi Arabian Embassy.

He also congratulated the new Indonesian government led by President Prabowo Subianto.
