"Unemployment is our concern. President Prabowo Subianto also has several strategic programs. I am responsible for creating more job opportunities," he said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.
To achieve the goal, he plans to revitalize job training centers (BLK) to increase the effectiveness, accessibility, and scale of job training.
According to the minister, the revitalization program will ensure BLK's ability to provide broader training, with the target of producing up to one million trained workers each year.
"We should improve BLK's contribution. We are targeting one million trained workers each year. They will be ready to work," Yassierli said.
Program participants will receive intensive training for two to three months before entering the world of work with the skills needed by the industry, the minister explained.
"That will be our main priority in the future," he added.

Yassierli was inducted by Prabowo as Minister of Manpower in the Red and White Cabinet on October 21, 2024.
On October 22, he said that the President will prioritize improving people's welfare during his tenure.
To achieve the goal, cross-ministerial involvement is needed, he added.
His ministry will also seek to improve the quality of human resources (HR) through vocational education by cooperating with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
For the reskilling and upskilling of the workforce, collaboration is needed with the Ministry of Industry, the manufacturing industry, and other parties, he said.
On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of Manpower, Immanuel Ebenezer, said that the President is paying great attention to the unemployment issue to realize the 2045 Golden Indonesia goal.
