"The food security budget in 2025 is quite large, with a total of Rp139.4 trillion, and it will be distributed to various ministries," Hasan noted in a press conference here on Wednesday.
The total budget of Rp139.4 trillion will be distributed across related ministries and agencies that will carry out efforts to support the government's food security goals, such as the Agriculture Ministry, the Forestry Ministry, the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry, and the Ministry of Public Works.
The National Nutrition Agency, state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the food sector, and other agencies will also receive a share of the budget.
The budget will be used for providing fertilizers, carrying out food security programs in villages, establishing new rice paddy fields, and implementing the National Nutrition Agency programs.
"We will coordinate on the output. What will be done must be integrated and directed, so that the food self-sufficiency target we want to achieve can really be realized," Hasan stated.
Earlier, Hasan had underscored the need for cross-ministerial and cross-agency collaboration for realizing the food self-sufficiency program in 2028.
"We must be in one team to work together to achieve food self-sufficiency by 2028," Hasan stated on Tuesday (October 29).
President Prabowo Subianto had recently urged all relevant ministries to support the Ministry of Agriculture as a leading sector in pursuing the food self-sufficiency targets within three to four years.
Prabowo stated that food independence is a necessity, considering that Indonesia is an agrarian country.
