In his office's statement cited here on Wednesday, Head of BRIN's Research Organization for Electronics and Informatics, Budi Prawara, noted that the agency invited the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the university, Wu-Yuin Hwang, to share his experiences and insights on AI.
He expressed hope that the sharing session, themed "New Genesis: The Future Human-Computer Interaction in the Computing Information Era Relies on AI-Powered Innovation and Mindset," would result in Dong Hwa and BRIN collaborating to conduct new research on human-computer interactions.
Prawara emphasized that research on that topic is essential as he assesses that the presence and use of AI had changed the way humans interact with computers and led to the emergence of new ways of thinking.
Hwang, for his part, stated that his research shows that interactions between humans and AI in the future might be marked with more advanced interactions, pointing to the ability of machines to actively interact with humans, not merely the other way around.
The academician, concurrently a professor at the Graduate Institute of Network Learning Technology of National Central University, also highlighted that human-AI interactions are categorized according to three roles of AI, namely support AI, partner AI, and print AI.
In his closing statement, Hwang underscored the importance of lifelong learning while noting that people should make good use of AI as their learning partner in the new approach he dubbed the new genesis.
