According to a press release from his ministry on Thursday, the meeting with KWI was part of the minister's agenda of visiting various educational organizations.
Mu'ti’s visit aimed to build partnerships with stakeholders to advance the Indonesian education system.
"We understand that community participation is essential in developing the education system. KWI is one of the largest educational organizations," he noted.
In his remarks, Mu'ti highlighted the value of mutual cooperation in strengthening education. He said his ministry views the private sector as an important partner in education.
He commended KWI for its support of the government’s efforts to organize education nationwide, particularly in building students' character.
"We see many educational foundations under KWI across Indonesia, and KWI has shown a strong commitment to helping educate the nation and promote inclusivity in education," Mu'ti added.
He expressed optimism that his visit would foster effective collaboration between the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and KWI in the future.
"Education is a means to foster social integration, and educational institutions are places where students come together and develop the nation's character," he said.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of KWI, Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, expressed optimism that the ministry would work to improve Indonesian education.
"We appreciate the opportunity to express our concerns and provide input that can be addressed by the ministry to enhance education," he added.
