Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy promoted Indonesian tourism, particularly the country's five super-priority destinations (DSP) and the Banyuwangi-North Bali-West Bali (3B) corridor, at the Taipei International Travel Fair (TITF) in Taipei, Taiwan.

"The promotion of tourism has been enhanced through product knowledge and updates on the five super-priority destinations and 3B (Banyuwangi-North Bali-West Bali)," said Ni Made Ayu Marthini, deputy for marketing at the ministry, in a statement on Thursday.

She noted that Taiwan's largest international tourism exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for Indonesia to expand its tourism promotion to the Taiwanese market.

The ministry leveraged this opportunity by hosting an Indonesian pavilion, which occupied 36 square meters in Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during the fair, held from November 1 to 4.

According to Marthini, visitors to the pavilion participated in mini-surveys and questionnaires, and they also received promotional materials.

Additionally, sales calls were made to travel agents, tour operators, airlines, and tourism application companies in Taipei.

Marthini further revealed that tourist arrivals from Taiwan to Indonesia in the first eight months of 2024 reached 127,610.

Based on this figure, Indonesia's active participation in the TITF was a strategic step toward achieving the target of 14.3 million foreign tourists this year.

"Through this event, we aim to sustainably increase the number of foreign visitors, especially from Taiwan, to Indonesia," she said.
