Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto is on a state visit to several countries, such as China, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and also the UK.

The head of state departed aboard the Indonesian presidential aircraft from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta at around 10:25 a.m. local time, Friday.

President Prabowo will attend an honorary invitation to China to meet President Xi Jinping, head to the US to meet President Joe Biden and visit the UK to meet Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as attend the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil.

For the US visit, President Prabowo will probably meet the winner of the US Presidential Election, Donald Trump.

This is Prabowo's first foreign visit as president. Earlier, Prabowo explained that accepting international invitations was necessary due to their strategic importance.

"Hence, I cannot avoid these international invitations because they have strategic value and are related to our economic situation," he remarked at a plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Prabowo considered it necessary to attend forums and invitations because Indonesia must participate in negotiations in every forum.

Indonesia should explore existing potentials and resolve crucial and strategic problems with these groups of countries, which can be said to be economic blocks that are crucial for its economic continuity.
