Prabowo expressed his optimistic view in his keynote speech for the APEC CEO Summit 2024 in Peru on Thursday (November 14).
"I believe that the leaders of the great powers of the world, in their final analysis, will always opt for the common good," he remarked, as observed from a video broadcast by his secretariat's YouTube channel here on Friday.
The president pointed out that the world is not new to rivalries, noting that they will always be part of the global dynamics.
However, he noted that technological breakthroughs have brought notable changes to the world.
"The tremendous breakthroughs in technology demand that leaders be wiser, more patient, and more accommodating," he remarked.
On that note, Prabowo underscored that a prudent approach to such breakthroughs is of the essence to ensure that technology brings significant progress to the world instead of leading it to destruction.
"Therefore, I always choose the path of collaboration, engagement, communication, and negotiation," he emphasized.
Furthermore, the Indonesian head of state called on all parties to uphold and live by common laws and international rules while endeavoring to find a shared understanding of common interests.
He also drew attention to world peace and prosperity, saying they are built on economic activities.
The president said that growth and prosperity will always elude a nation without a well-functioning economic sector.
"Without growth, we cannot alleviate poverty, and we cannot create employment," he pointed out.
He then observed that the Indo-Pacific is among the most dynamic regions in the world while expressing optimism that the region's positive trends in technology, demography, and resources would lead to a bright future for all.
