Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia can take notes from the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty (GAAHP) initiated by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva at the G20 Summit in implementing its Free Nutritious Meals program.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, delivered the remarks on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.

"This (initiative) is also President Lula's mainstay, so, of course, the learning is important. And, of course, this is part of what we do," he said.

GAAHP is considered a historic initiative of the G20 Summit under the Brazilian presidency because of the collective commitment to building a more just and prosperous world, he informed.

President Prabowo Subianto attended the launch of the GAAHP, reflecting Indonesia's active role in responding to global challenges and fighting for a more inclusive future.

In addition to GAAHP, Indonesia can also learn from France and China about implementing a successful free nutritious meals program.

"Of course, (we are) learning not only from Brazil. Yesterday (we also) learned from China, then there was France with its meal program and also about milk production," Hartarto informed.

The Free Nutritious Meals Program promoted by President Prabowo is one of the priorities of the Red and White Cabinet. The program has received support from a number of international partners as well.

China, for instance, is providing funding support through the Food Supplementation and School Feeding Program in Indonesia.

Following a bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and US President Joe Biden last week, Washington also expressed support for the program.
