Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has invited King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to visit Indonesia again.

"He (the King) has embarked on two visits to Indonesia, and I invited him to come again," Prabowo told the media while delivering a press statement about his state visit to the UK on Thursday, as broadcast on Presidential 's YouTube channel here on Friday.

The President extended the invitation to the King during a bilateral meeting in London on Thursday, where the two heads of state discussed various issues, such as environmental preservation.

He began his second visit by participating in a dialogue with Islamic religious figures in Southeast Asia's largest mosque, Istiqlal, in Central Jakarta.

The then-prince also made a courtesy call on Indonesia's sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, where he also gave a presidential lecture in front of SBY's Cabinet members.

During the second visit, he also traveled to Jambi province to review the Forest of Hope Project and discuss climate change and global warming.

In addition, he paid a visit to the world's largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur, in Magelang, Central Java province.

In addition to meeting King Charles III on Thursday, President Prabowo also met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner during his London visit.
