According to a statement received from the Indonesian Woodball Association (IWbA) in Jakarta on Tuesday, all the medals were won in doubles events, with Ariska Untung and Surya Aditya winning gold in the men's double stroke competition.
Meanwhile, the silver and bronze medals were secured by Siti Masithah-Febriyanti in women's double stroke and Margo Nugraha-Komang Sumiasa in men's double stroke, respectively.
In the singles events, gold medalist Surya Aditya finished in fourth place, while Febriyanti and Siti Masithah ranked fourth and eighth, respectively.
In the statement, chair of the IWbA, Aang Sunadji, spoke highly of the team's feat, saying that the medals reflect Indonesia's rapid transformation in the world of woodball.
"Indonesia's woodball has witnessed continuous progress in achievements, owing to the support provided by many parties, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the private sector, like Mills Sport, that supplied the uniforms for the athletes and coaches," he added.
Sunadji noted that the General Assembly of the International Woodball Federation (IWbF) took place on the sidelines of the world championship to discuss several matters, including the need to push for broader recognition of woodball internationally.
Furthermore, he underscored that woodball would be contested at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, marking the sport's first appearance in Southeast Asia's largest sporting event.
"We are optimistic that solid cooperation among the IWbA, IWbF, the government, and private actors will lead Indonesia's woodball to achieve more feats and make the country proud at the international level," he added.
