Jakarta (ANTARA) - Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister Nusron Wahid stated that under his leadership, his ministry focuses on improving the quality of human resources and services.

Wahid expressed hope that the ministry's human resources would have the competence and experience to carry out the duties and responsibilities of their position.

"The improvement of the quality of human resources is expected to be carried out in line with the improvement of services to the community," he remarked here on Thursday.

Wahid, who was inaugurated as minister on October 21, said he seeks to ensure good changes in the aspect of service quality at the start of his leadership.

He emphasized that all work units within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning must innovate in improving services, considering that the needs and challenges concerning land affairs and spatial planning are increasingly more complex.

Minister Wahid has been assigned four tasks by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

One of the tasks is preparing additional human resources who understand spatial planning matters.

The Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Ministry is urged to prepare additional human resources so that offices under the ministry can be equipped with competent human resources in spatial planning to ensure they are not solely centralized at its central office.

Minister AHY affirmed that the Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Ministry can be the key to infrastructure development in all regions.

AHY also called on the ministry to continue the agrarian reforms while ensuring that land use is carried out more productively so no land is left idle when the community can utilize it.
