The arrest occurred on December 2, 2024, at the Batam Center International Port, Yuldi Yusman, Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement (Wasdakim) at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, stated in Jakarta on Thursday.
Yusman revealed that Yan Zhenxing was attempting to board the Majestic Ship to Singapore when immigration officers flagged him.
A check of the Border Control Management (BCM) system revealed an Interpol Red Notice issued by the Beijing NCB.
The Chinese authorities accuse Yan Zhenxing of involvement in a criminal gang that operates an online gambling platform and money laundering.
The gang allegedly manipulates data to generate significant profits, estimated at 130 million yuan (approximately Rp284 billion).
The process of returning Yan Zhenxing to Chinese authorities is underway, with NCB Interpol Indonesia managing his transfer for subsequent legal action.
