"I also encourage the diversification of staff and management at IsDB, especially from Indonesia, which is the third-largest shareholder in IsDB, and this should continue to be improved," Indrawati remarked in a post on her Instagram account @smindrawati, as quoted in Jakarta on Monday.
According to the minister, this situation presents a challenge for Indonesian professionals to actively engage and advance their careers within international institutions.
By doing so, Indonesia can continue to play an active role in global development efforts and contribute to development across the world.
During the meeting, the finance minister and the IsDB president also discussed the development of challenges faced by IsDB member countries, as well as the strategic direction and operational framework of IsDB for the next decade.
Indrawati stated that President Al Jasser invited her to a meeting in Madinah in early 2025 to discuss the strategic framework of IsDB moving forward.

Al Jasser spoke at length about the reforms in IsDB’s operations and business model, as well as the financial instruments and pricing mechanisms during the meeting.
"This is crucial, especially for IsDB member countries that are still in the low-income category and facing significant development challenges, as well as having limited government finances," he remarked.
During her working visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Indrawati also attended the International Zakat, Tax, and Customs Conference as a panelist.
She was a speaker in the Ministerial Session: Ensuring Prosperity through Creating Sustainable Economic Revenues, alongside Saudi Arabia's Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Bahrain’s Finance Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and India’s State Minister of Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary.
During this session, Indrawati shared Indonesia's experience in recovering its economy after the COVID-19 pandemic, the challenges of fiscal policy, tax reform, and global financial governance, which are highly dynamic and challenging but important for all countries.
"We can learn much about economics and fiscal policies, economic diversification, and economic transformation from other countries, including Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries," Indrawati emphasized.
