"This section will be used from December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025," President Director of PT Jasamarga Probolinggo Banyuwangi (JPB) Adi Prasetyanto remarked here on Thursday.
The section spans as long as 10.5 km, and the vehicles allowed to cross this toll road are Group I or small vehicles, or non-bus.
The Gending-Kraksaan Section will be opened at 6 a.m. local time and closed at 4 p.m. local time during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The section will be open for one-way only, for the homecoming flow on December 21-27, 2024, and for the return flow on December 28, 2024 - January 5, 2025.
The one-way traffic scheme aims to maintain the safety of toll road users.
In addition, the Gending-Kraksaan section that would be functional during the year-end holiday period will be free or not subject to tariffs.
However, Group I vehicle travelers who will cross this section must tap their e-toll cards and ensure their card balances are sufficient while traveling during the holiday period.
Previously reported findings indicate that the Ministry of Public Works (PU) has verified the national road network's preparedness, spanning 47,603 kilometers and maintaining a robust condition of 93.88 percent.
Additionally, the ministry has confirmed the operational readiness of 3,020.5 kilometers of toll roads to support public mobility throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays.
