Hartono explained here on Thursday that the Peace School program teaches the values of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights, which can prevent various radicalization ideas that can lead to acts of terrorism.
"The Peace School is one of the mitigation steps as the young people are equipped with these (Pancasila) values from an early age," Hartono remarked when met during his visit to public high school SMAN 13 Semarang.
In the current digital era, he drew attention to the two channels used to spread terrorism-related ideas, namely online and offline.
According to the agency chief, the spread of radical terrorism through online means is more massive as many young people now use online communication tools.
Hence, to this end, he ensured that the BNPT always conducts surveillance in cyberspace and carries out various mitigation measures, one of which is through the Peace School program.
The BNPT chief stated that the implementation of the Peace School program is in line with the first point of President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita mission, which is to strengthen the ideology of Pancasila, democracy, and human rights.
Prabowo's administration is committed to strengthening Pancasila as the country's main ideology by strengthening democracy and upholding human rights.
Pancasila, democracy, and human rights are believed to be able to form a harmonious synergy to ensure that Indonesia remains on the right path towards a better and inclusive future.
"The Peace School program has these values so that it can ward off radical ideas, both online and offline, as well as through formal and non-formal education," he affirmed.
