Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) affirmed that the strategic pursuit of gender equality in Papua is one of the keys to realizing Golden Indonesia 2045.

Minister of PPPA Arifah Choiri Fauzi emphasized here on Tuesday that local governments in Papua should continue taking steps to empower women to achieve prosperity in every family.

At the Forum Merdeka Barat 9 virtual discussion held on Monday (December 16), themed "Empowered Women Towards Golden Indonesia 2045," Fauzi spotlighted three priority programs in the ministry to encourage women's empowerment and child protection towards realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

"They are Indonesia Common Space (RBI), expansion of the SAPA 129 hotline service, and strengthening village-based one data for women and children," she elaborated.

Moreover, her side will encourage the implementation of three programs throughout Papua to welcome the 96th National Mother's Day on December 22.

Thus, she believes services for women and child protection towards Golden Indonesia 2045 can be realized.

"Mother's Day is a reminder that women are one of the key drivers of national development," she remarked.

Fauzi explained that the three programs aim to create resilient families and independent villages as well as a strong Papua, as they reflect the PPPA Ministry's commitment to prioritizing women and children in development.

"Through collaboration between the central, provincial, and local governments as well as the community, we believe that the goal of a prosperous golden generation in Papua is not impossible," she affirmed.

The minister stressed that gender equality remains a priority in Papua and national development.

According to Fauzi, empowering women improves family welfare and accelerates economic growth.
