As quoted in the ministry's press release here on Wednesday, he highlighted that cultural villages have proven the community's ability to adapt to modern times without losing the roots and cultural values of their ancestors.
"This is where traditions, customs, art, cultural expressions, and local wisdom continue to live, grow, and develop," he remarked while delivering a speech at the 2024 Cultural Village Award event.
The awarding event was held at Lalang Village, Manggar Sub-district, East Belitung District, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Tuesday (December 17).
"Cultural village is not only a place to preserve ancestral heritage, but it is also a source of inspiration and wisdom to respond to current challenges," he affirmed.

Minister Zon also stated that cultural villages are "the heart of Indonesian culture" and a "mirror of diversity" that unites and shapes the nation's identity.
The 2024 Cultural Village Award celebrated villages that have successfully leveraged their unique potential while preserving traditions and driving cultural-based economic empowerment.
Minister Zon expected that the cultural villages that received the awards could be a source of inspiration for other villages to develop their potential.
"Hopefully, the awards will not only be a form of recognition but also a spark of enthusiasm to continue to work, innovate, and encourage the birth of various initiatives," he remarked.
Moreover, he expected cultural villages to become the guardians of the past, guidelines in the present, and the connectors for future generations.
