The two figures held a meeting at the office of the Ministry of Manpower in Jakarta on Friday (December 20).
"We can explore the possibility of forging collaboration in the employment sector. Indonesia and Jordan have the potential to exchange knowledge about this matter," Yassierli noted in his ministry's statement cited here on Saturday.
He remarked that the Ministry of Manpower would move to assess the feasibility of Indonesia-Jordan cooperation in several initiatives, such as the capacity-building of human resources through vocational training courses and adjusting the skills of Indonesian workers to the actual needs of Jordan's job market.
"Indonesia is also open to cooperating in other aspects of the employment sector, such as issues related to occupational safety and health," the minister highlighted.
In the same statement, Secretary-General of the Manpower Ministry Anwar Sanusi noted that his office would soon draft a memorandum of understanding expected to serve as a foundation to strengthen collaboration between Indonesia's Manpower Ministry and Jordan's Labor Ministry.
He then highlighted that the Indonesian government had stationed a manpower attaché in Jordan to oversee the placement of Indonesian immigrant workers there.
Furthermore, Sanusi expressed hope that Friday's meeting would pave the way for Indonesia and Jordan to broaden their scope of bilateral partnership to other fields.
"Since Jordan is in need of professional workers, we will organize vocational training programs (to cater to the need)," he concluded.
Ambassador Al Omoush held a similar meeting with then-manpower minister Ida Fauziyah in August 2024. They discussed the placement of Indonesian migrant workers through the One-Channel Placement System (SPSK).
