Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, ensured that the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), the public kitchens providing free nutritious meals, adhere to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Nasbi made this statement after reviewing the Tanahsareal SPPG in Bogor City, West Java, on Monday, the first day of the nutritious free meals program (MBG).

"Their SOP is strict. Anyone entering the area should change clothes and wear a head cover and mask. I also reviewed the food preparation process," he remarked.

Nasbi ensured that the kitchen, which serves three thousand meals per day, maintained cleanliness under the auspices of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and had an effective waste management system.

"The waste at the SPPG has been sorted into categories, such as plastic waste and leftover food," Nasbi added.

According to information from BGN, Nasbi stated that 190 SPPG kitchens are currently operational.

These kitchens are spread across 26 provinces, including Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Gorontalo.

The kitchens are also located in West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, and South Papua.

Each kitchen is managed by a head of SPPG appointed by BGN. The head of SPPG works with a nutritionist and an accountant to ensure strict supervision of nutritional quality and smooth food distribution.

In addition to guaranteeing sufficient nutrition in each meal prepared, the SPPG supervises the cleanliness standards, nutritional management, and waste management in each kitchen.

Meanwhile, Head of SPPG Tanahsareal, Ayu Pertiwi, explained that the kitchen she leads serves 15 schools in Bogor City with a total of 3,018 students per day.

SPPG Tanahsareal is one of the MBG kitchens in Bogor. Another SPPG is located at the Bosowa Bina Insani Foundation, which caters to 10 schools with a total of 2,983 students.

"We have 46 kitchen personnel from the surrounding community along with four managers," Pertiwi remarked.
