"Indonesia's diplomacy aims to support the realization of Asta Cita by strengthening national resilience, independence, and sovereignty through self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, and a creative economy that is based on green and blue economies," he expounded here on Friday.
While issuing the foreign minister's annual press statement, Sugiono explained that under President Prabowo Subinato's leadership, Indonesia will uphold its foreign policy principles and ensure that the nation's sovereignty is respected globally.
"Indonesia will take its place on the world stage, reflecting its status as a major country, a trusted partner, and a responsible neighbor," he added.
Minister Sugiono explained that Indonesia's diplomacy should not only respond to crises but also be anticipatory, progressive, and visionary. In addition, it should prioritize human values, unity, and a commitment to the welfare of the people and justice for all.
"Efforts to strengthen land and sea border diplomacy will continue, and we will accelerate the completion of boundary agreements with neighboring countries," he said.

Minister Sugiono added that health diplomacy will become a strategic priority, focusing on enhancing human resources and achieving self-sufficiency in pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
"Indonesia will also continue to strengthen a global health system that is more responsive to future disease outbreaks and pandemics," he added.
Sugiono also highlighted the importance of Asta Cita as a strategic guideline for diplomatic efforts.
"Indonesian diplomacy must be adaptive. We can no longer be stuck in routine. Indonesia must lead with courage, innovation, and resilience," he said.
