Jakarta (ANTARA) - Officers from the Jakarta Fire Brigade and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) on Thursday retrieved four bodies from Wednesday night's fire at Glodok Plaza, West Jakarta.

Acting Head of Jakarta Gulkarmat Satriadi Gunawan stated that the four bodies were found on the eighth floor of the shopping center.

He acknowledged the difficulty in identifying the victims due to severe burns.

"Support from police officers is required. We have coordinated with them," he told reporters, adding that the victims will be identified at the Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

Earlier, eight individuals were reported missing in the fire: Ade Aryati (29), Sinta Amelia (20), Aldrinas (29), and Aulia Belinda (28). Others include Odima Yukari (25), Deri Saiki (25), Indira Seviana Bela (25), and Keren Shalom J (21).

The cause of the fire is still unknown. Earlier, Gunawan said the fire likely started on the seventh or eighth floor, which is home to many electronics traders.
