Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto apologized to parents and children who have yet to benefit from the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

"This program takes time to reach all people. For that, I apologize for the delay experienced by parents and children who have not received the MBG program," he remarked in Sumedang, West Java, on Monday.

Prabowo also acknowledged that the newly launched program cannot immediately serve all children across Indonesia.

The president noted that both physical and administrative processes necessitate time for equitable distribution of the program's benefits to children.

The head of state then highlighted the importance of the security process so the funds distributed for this program are right on target, with no irregularities.

"We need to secure the money transferred for this program. It indeed takes time. However, I will find the best and fastest way for this program to reach all of our children," he emphasized.

He also ensured the funds designated for the MBG program are available and will be used according to necessity.

The president reiterated that this program is aimed at assisting children who need it the most.

"I guarantee that the funds are available. For those who do not need it, give their share to those who need it," he pointed out.

Prabowo expressed optimism that by the end of 2025, all children will have access to the MBG program.

"I believe that by the end of 2025, all Indonesian children can eat nutritious food (from the program)," the president stated.

Currently, the MBG initiative is being carried out in 31 provinces in Indonesia, with 238 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or public kitchens operating to provide food for this program.

For the January-April period, the government targets the program to reach three million beneficiaries, with the aim of increasing the figure to six million in the subsequent phase from April to August.
