Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri stated that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program is one of the government's efforts to address the issue of stunting in Indonesia.

"There are many benefits to the MBG program, starting with how we combat stunting," Putri remarked while reviewing the MBG program's implementation at special needs school SLB Negeri 5 here on Tuesday.

According to the deputy minister, the MBG program has multiple advantages, especially in helping to reduce the stunting prevalence rate by providing proper nutrition to children in various schools.

Putri explained that the program focuses on improving nutrition and maintaining the health of human resources, which can enhance the quality of life and well-being of the community.

The deputy minister stated that adequate nutrition is expected to increase children's productivity, allowing them to make significant contributions to the nation in various areas of life.

"The impact is on their productivity in daily life. When their nutritional intake is sufficient, they can be more productive and contribute optimally to the nation and state," she remarked.
