The flight route will be served by Australian airline Jetstar Airways.
"The direct flight will start on March 20, 2025," Head of the Komodo Airport Operations Unit Ceppy Triono said when contacted here on Thursday.
Earlier in 2024, Komodo International Airport opened an international route between Kuala Lumpur and Labuan Bajo, which was served by AirAsia.
"The plan for the Singapore-Labuan Bajo-Singapore route is the flight will be twice a week, namely on Thursdays and Sundays," he informed.
Triono explained that the addition of the international route is good news because it could support the development of the tourism sector in Labuan Bajo and Flores Island as a whole.
"We feel immense gratitude for the opening of the Singapore-Labuan Bajo flight, which will certainly open up even wider opportunities for tourism as well as exciting adventures on Flores Island," he added.
He said he hopes that the addition of international flights to Labuan Bajo would also prompt other airlines to open international flights from the area.
"This will always be an opportunity for much wider connectivity to introduce the beauty of Labuan Bajo and Flores Island in the future and hopefully, there will be other international flights," he added.
Earlier, the Ministry of Transportation raised the status of Komodo airport from domestic to international, based on the Transportation Minister's Decree Number KM 31 of 2024.
