"To ensure the activities are fully stopped, the ministry has put up a banner stopping the activities," Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister's Special Staff Doni Ismanto Darwin confirmed to ANTARA here on Wednesday.
Darwin noted that this step follows a field inspection conducted on January 20, 2025, which revealed reclamation activities involving excavations and reclamation filling over an area of 18 m2 intended for anchorage and berthing.
The reclamation activities violated the provisions of the Marine Space Utilization Activity Conformity Approval (PKKPRL) granted on July 12, 2024.
"The permit only approves the construction of floating cottages and tourist piers in an area of 180 hectares," he pointed out.
Darwin emphasized that his ministry is taking decisive measures against PT CPS for violating marine space utilization regulations on Pari Island.
On January 28, 2025, the ministry's special unit monitored the site previously reported for reclamation activities that breached the issued permit.
Darwin reported that during the supervision, no active reclamation work was observed.
"The officers only found several workers who were carrying out monitoring and heavy equipment that was not operating," he remarked.
Furthermore, he affirmed that his ministry has scheduled the collection of information from PT CPS for January 30, 2025, to ensure compliance and prevent similar violations from recurring.
"This aims to investigate alleged violations and determine administrative sanctions in accordance with the provisions," he explained.
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries emphasized the importance of maintaining the sustainability of the marine ecosystem and compliance with the rules on marine space utilization.
In addition, he affirmed that the ministry will continue to ensure that every activity is carried out in accordance with the permit and does not affect the environment or coastal communities.
