Jakarta (ANTARA) - The celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Thailand reaffirms both countries' strong commitment to bolstering cooperation, Director of Southeast Asia at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mirza Nurhidayat stated.

"This milestone not only marks the passage of time but also underscores the enduring strength of our partnership, built on shared history, mutual respect, and a common vision for the future," he remarked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday.

He emphasized that over the past 75 years, Indonesia and Thailand have demonstrated their commitment to fostering collaboration and building mutual understanding.

Nurhidayat further noted that the two countries have also worked together to address regional complexities and promote peace, stability, and economic growth in ASEAN and around the world.

The cooperation between the two countries spans various sectors, including trade and investment, education and culture, security, defense, and people-to-people exchanges and relations.

Nurhidayat underscored that in light of evolving global challenges, the partnership between Indonesia and Thailand remains crucial.

To this end, the Indonesian Government is resolved to collaborate with the Government of Thailand to tackle various critical issues, such as climate change, sustainable development, and regional security.

By leveraging their collective strengths, he noted, both nations can effectively tackle challenges and pave the way for a more prosperous future for their citizens.

In addition, he encouraged the two countries to continue to promote friendship and cooperation, foster closer ties between communities, and create a legacy of peace and prosperity towards a better partnership.

On Thursday, the logo commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Thailand was unveiled.

According to Nurhidayat, the logo signifies the spirit of unity, friendship, and shared aspirations of both countries. It also symbolizes the commitment of both countries to deepen and expand cooperation in the years to come.
