"We consider this a concrete and progressive step after a long time," Sugiono said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He noted that Indonesia had participated in related discussions with several foreign ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
According to him, all parties at the meeting agreed that US involvement is crucial in efforts to achieve peace in Gaza.
Sugiono said the peace proposal has also received positive responses from both conflicting sides.
He emphasized that Indonesia’s main focus remains on ending violence in Gaza and ensuring humanitarian aid access.
"The main points of the proposal must be discussed. This is now under negotiation," he added.
Sugiono reaffirmed that his ministry continues to monitor developments and hopes this initiative marks the beginning of lasting peace in Gaza.
Trump unveiled the 20-point peace proposal, titled the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, in Washington, D.C., on September 29, calling it a historic day for peace.
The plan includes measures to end hostilities, release hostages, and rebuild Gaza with international support.
