After chairing a leadership meeting at the TNI headquarters in Jakarta, he informed that a shift in doctrine is required to help TNI adjust its personnel and equipment to brand new trends of warfare, marked by the extensive use of sophisticated technology.
"For instance, the trend has shifted from traditional means of war to the utilization of artificial intelligence-powered drones. These days, soldiers can simply use drones to eliminate or chase after targets," he said.
Subiyanto then highlighted that the modernization of the military doctrine would drive the TNI to acquire and utilize cutting-edge technologies as defense equipment as well as recruit civilians capable of managing cybersecurity into the cyber unit of the armed forces.
He argued that a modernized military doctrine could help the TNI fortify its posture against potential unconventional threats.
