Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has vowed to take firm action against corrupt individuals who disrupt government programs aimed at improving the people's prosperity.

During his first 100 days in office, Prabowo has repeatedly emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and corruption-free government.

“I will take action against anyone who is disobedient,” he stated while delivering a speech at an event to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama on Wednesday evening.

Prabowo noted that several parties oppose and mock government programs. He even perceives efforts to obstruct these initiatives, he said.

The president has stated that he prefers to remain silent in response to such resistance and criticism. Instead, he encourages cabinet ministers and institutional leaders to engage in self-reflection and correct any mistakes they identify in carrying out their duties.

Prabowo said he is focused on rallying support for programs that promote public welfare. However, he will not hesitate to take decisive action against corrupt individuals who sabotage these initiatives.

"I have asked all government officials and institutions to clean themselves up before they are cleaned up!” he warned.

President Prabowo has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to leading an Indonesia free from corruption, including at a national coordination meeting last November.

At that time, he identified four major obstacles to Indonesia’s prosperity: online gambling, drugs, smuggling, and corruption.

He highlighted that potential state revenue losses from online gambling alone amounted to Rp981 trillion (over US$60 billion), while losses from illegal mining reached around US$7 billion —comparable to the estimated annual leakage of the state budget.

For Indonesia to achieve prosperity, these four issues must be effectively tackled under his leadership, Prabowo stressed.
