To this end, he highlighted the importance of collaboration as the housing provision requires synergy between the central government, regional governments, the private sector, and the community.
Pambudy made the remarks during a meeting with Minister of Housing and Settlement (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, and Acting Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti on Wednesday (February 5), according to a press statement received from the Ministry of National Development Planning here Friday.
On that occasion, his side and the PKP Ministry strengthened strategies in providing housing for low-income communities (MBR).
The government is committed to building three million houses in the 2025-2029 period, comprising two million units in rural areas and one million units in urban areas.
"Housing development is not merely about housing provision but ensuring our people have decent, affordable, and quality housing to improve their welfare," Pambudy emphasized.
He affirmed that the government is also increasing access to decent and affordable housing for MBR by using the Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) data and developing a housing queue system to ensure targeted beneficiaries receive the assistance.
He elaborated that this system includes information on preferences, purchasing power, and demand for owned, rented, and leased-owned houses.
He believes that the three million housing program is projected to have a significant impact on national economic growth.
Pambudy explained that the program, with an investment value reaching Rp412.50 trillion (USD24 billion), is projected to boost economic growth by 1.68 percent and absorb 380 thousand workers.
"The government is also strengthening the housing ecosystem through the development of investment-based savings and securitization of housing financing assets," he noted.
In addition, the self-help housing financing scheme in rural areas will be expanded, while housing development in urban areas will adopt the concept of transit-oriented development and consider urban renewal, he remarked.
