Acting regional secretary of Bandung, Iskandar Zulkarnain, said that Bandung has a long history of cooperation with Hamamatsu city, which dates back to 2014.
"It is not only for health workers but also the industrial sector and education. Hopefully, in the near future, the cooperation can make progress," he added here on Friday.
Zulkarnain expressed the hope that the cooperation will improve the capacity of health workers and the management of hospitals in Bandung city.
A member of the city council of Hamamatsu, Suzuki Hiroyuki, emphasized his city's commitment to bolstering relations with Bandung, especially in the fields of health and human resource development.
He affirmed that he also has a role in the Ministry of Economy of Japan in strengthening cooperation with Indonesia.
According to him, many industries in Japan need young workers from Indonesia, especially in the health sector.
Therefore, he said, the cooperation would not only open career opportunities for young Indonesian talents but also encourage exchange programs for students and professionals of both cities.
He expressed the hope that the cooperation will be enhanced further and benefit the two countries.
