Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, spotlighted the government's commitment to building inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) governance.

"Indonesia believes that AI management must be based on equity, inclusivity, and security," she stated during the Ministerial Meeting of GPAI Members and Interested Countries at the AI Action Summit in Paris on Sunday.

According to a statement from her ministry on Monday, Hafid emphasized that Indonesia seeks to ensure that global AI policies not only reflect the interests of developed countries but also take into account the realities of developing nations.

The Indonesian government underscored the significance of an inclusive approach to global AI governance, aligning with the meeting's main theme, "GPAI's Role in Building Inclusive Global Governance of AI."

Indonesia supports strengthening international coordination in AI development that is oriented towards public interest and social welfare, Hafid said.

She highlighted AI's transformative power in the global economy and insisted that every nation should benefit from the digital revolution.

Hafid affirmed that Indonesia will continue to play an active role in global AI policy discussions to ensure the safe, ethical, and inclusive utilization of AI for all.

She added that Indonesia is advocating for AI policies founded on equity, inclusivity, and security, as well as the utilization of AI to support sustainable development.

Hafid stressed that Indonesia's participation in the forum aims to ensure that global AI policies reflect the interests of developing countries, adding that AI must be managed according to principles that place humans at the center of innovation.
