Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Population and Family Planning is optimizing integrated health posts (posyandus) spread across Indonesian neighborhoods to educate the public about the Free Health Check-up Program.

This was conveyed by Population and Family Planning Minister Wihaji during a visit to Periuk Jaya Community Health Center, Tangerang, Banten, on Monday.

He expressed the hope that the free screening would be leveraged by all families, couples of reproductive age, adolescents, and older adults.

The ministry will deploy its personnel in the field to support the smooth running of the program.

"The Ministry of Population and Family Planning has 1,375,194 personnel in the field who are ready to support and monitor the free health screening program," the minister informed.

Wihaji said that they will be tasked with disseminating information among families and communities about the importance of participating in the program.

This will involve integrating digital and traditional communication strategies, such as social media, community radio, and activities to reach target groups across regions, including remote areas.

The free screening program, which was officially rolled out on Monday, is the second quick-win program of the government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto after the Free Nutritious Meals program, which was launched in January 2025.

The target beneficiaries of the free health checks are 281 million Indonesians from all age groups, ranging from babies to older adults.

The government has allocated Rp4.7 trillion (around US$287.6 million) for the free screening program, which is based on the principle of "no one left behind."

In the initial stage, the program is targeting children aged 0–6 years and people aged over 18 years.

It will be implemented in schools for children aged 7 to 17 from July.
