Sorong, SW Papua (ANTARA) - The Southwest Papua provincial government has assured that the Free Health Check-up (CKG) program, a strategic initiative of the central government, will be implemented in all six districts/cities in the region.

Head of the Southwest Papua Provincial Health Office, Naomi Netty Howay, said here on Wednesday that CKG is President Prabowo Subianto's flagship program.

It has been designed as a special gift for residents, who can avail the program on their birthdays, she added.

"The provincial government will ensure that the community benefits from the program," she affirmed.

She informed that residents whose birthdays fall between January 1 and February 9 this year can still participate in the CKG program until April 30, 2025.

The Southwest Papua provincial government unveiled the CKG program in two areas, Sorong city and Sorong district, on Monday, hoping that the remaining four districts/cities will quickly prepare and implement the program.

"In the near future, we will hold coordination meetings with hospitals and local health centers in the six regions to ensure that the program is implemented optimally," Howay said.

She added that the coordination meeting will focus on important issues concerning the readiness of human resources, medical equipment, supplies, and budget support.

"The program implementation will also undergo a thorough evaluation to assess the impact of this free health service," she informed.

One of the requirements for accessing the free health check-up service is an electronic ID card (KTP-el), which will serve as a proof of identity, she said.

The CKG program aims to increase the access of vulnerable communities to health services while ensuring they receive optimal medical attention.
