Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has called on Indonesian judges to consistently uphold justice without discrimination.

While attending the Special Session of the 2024 Supreme Court Annual Report here on Wednesday, the president also urged judges to maintain integrity and protect the people.

"On behalf of the Indonesian people, I appeal to you to be judges with integrity and be protectors of the people. Show justice, uphold justice for all Indonesian people without discrimination," Prabowo remarked at the Hall of the Supreme Court in Jakarta.

He emphasized that the executive, legislative, and judiciary branches, as pillars of the trias politica, hold equal importance.

Focusing on the judiciary, the president encouraged judges to continue to be courageous in upholding justice, particularly in the fight against corruption.

"Judges must dare to uphold the truth, uphold honesty, uphold justice, eradicate corruption. Let us work as best we can for our children and grandchildren," he appealed.

The Special Plenary Session of the Supreme Court Annual Report is a routine agenda held by the Supreme Court as part of its accountability of performance to the public over the past year.

This year’s session was held with the theme "With Integrity, Quality Justice."

During the event, Indonesian Chief Justice Sunarto delivered a speech on the Supreme Court's annual report, including achievements, the number of cases decided, the number of pending cases, and the accomplishments of the Supreme Court over the past year.
